B7 KILLER
In order to intercept Federation messages, Blake needs a T-P crystal,
to decypher the codes. The Federation base on Fosforon has the crystals
and the base commander, Tynus, is an "old friend" of Avon's. Intending
to call in an old debt, Avon and Vila teleport down to the base,
In orbit the
restt of the crew watch the salvage of a 700 year old ship. Cally "feels"
that something is wrong. Blake sends a warning to the base , then teleports
to the lab to meet with Dr. Bellfriar, who doesn't take Blake's warning
seriously. During the autopsy of one of the bodies found on the derelict,
one body reanimates briefly and kills the pathologist. A plague then breaks
out on the base.
Meanwhile, Tynus
doesn't want to cooperate but is forced to when Avon reminds him that Tynus
was a partner in Avon's ill-fated banking scheme. He agrees to help, but
Vila discovers that Tynus has betrayed them and sent for Servalan. Under
the guise of a fire, Avon steals the crystal and he and Vila teleport back
to the Liberator.
Working with
Blake and Orac, Dr Bellfriar makes a startlingly discovery. The plague
is no accident. Apparently, another alien race wished no contact with humans
and devised a clever way of keeping them planetbound. Humans mutant slightly
due to space travel and the plague is designed to only attack space faring
humans. Neither Bellfriar nor Orac can effect a cure, and Dr Bellfriar
dies. Aganst, Avon vehenemous arguments, Blake places plague warnings around
the planet, ironically saving Servalan's life.
B8 HOSTAGE
The Federation has stepped up their attacks on the Liberator, using
new technologies. The Liberator barely escapes with major damage. A message
from Exbar is sent by Travis. He says that now he is an outlaw like Blake
and that they should join forces. Travis also informs Blake that he has
Blake's cousin Inga as a hostage and he will kill her if Blake doesn't
come to Exbar. Avon "knows" it's a trap but Blake goes down to Exbar alone.
There he meets his uncle Ushton who sens Blake to the tower Travis is using
as his base.
Despite, their
earlier disagreement, Avon, along with Vila follows Blake down to Exbar.
They are both captured by Travis' crimos. Ushton has betrayed Blake and
the others to protect Inga. Travis wants the Liberator and the death of
the crew. He puts them in a chamber and starts to bleed off the oxygen.
Knowing that Vila is a weak link, Travis is able to force Vila into revealing
the teleport operation. Travis then sent his crimo, Molok to the Liberator,
He captures Jenna and Cally but they are able to escape and teleport Molok
into space.
In the tower,
Inga creates a diversion while Ushton frees Blake and the others. During
the chase Avon is shot, the crimos are killed and Travis is left stranded.
Avon confesses that he has sent for Servalan, hoping that she will deal
with Travis. Servalan arrives after the Liberator is gone. She makes a
deals with Travis. He is to continue to chase Blake and led her to the
Liberator. When the crew is dead and the Liberator hers, Servalan will
officially list Travis as dead. After all "no one is freer then a dead
man".
