B3 WEAPON

A beta grade technician, Cosner, invents a new weapon, Imipak. Ignored by his superiors, Cosner steals Imipak and, with a freed slave, Rashel, heads for a deserted planet. He destroys his ship and hides in an old Federation installation.
Servalan schemes to use Cosner to capture Blake. She orders two Blake clones from the Clonemasters. One is killed by Travis, who thinks its the real Blake. The other is brought to Cosner's planet. Servalan uses a psycho manipulator, a "puppeteer", Carnell to make accurate predictions on Cosner's behavior. Carnell suggests that Cosner will be in such a mental fugue from loneliness that he'll willingly hand over Imipak  to his hero, Blake. And if he sees a second (the real) Blake, he'll go mad.
Having intercepted the security alert following Cosner's escape, Blake precedes to Cosner's planet. Cosner has already given Imipak to the clone and Travis uses it to mark Blake, Avon and Gan. However, there is no effect until the trigger mechanism is pressed.
Servalan lets the crew escape because the Imipak key can be triggered over great time spans and great distances. Travis is also marked. But before Servalan can use the weapon, she is forced to hand it over to the clone and Rashel. They vow never to use Imipak and together they begin to build a home on the planet. Servalan and Travis escape, but Carnell, who has failed, due to lack of actuate information, deserts the Federation, before he is killed by Servalan.

B4 HORIZON

Suffering from exhaustion, the crew of the Liberator head into deep space for a rest. Surprisingly, they encounter a Federation supply ship. Following it, they reach a planet called Horizon. Blake and Jenna teleport down and are quickly captured. Vila, Gan and Cally try to rescue them but are also caught. Blake tries to talk to Ro, the native chief, who is now a puppet ruler for the Federation. Still the crew are place in the mines to dig out a highly radioactive mineral by hand.
Meanwhile, alone on the Liberator, Avon weighs his chances of survival if he leave the crew on Horizon. Orac tells Avon that he could live out his natural life span, comfortably, provided he avoids confront three Federation pursuit ships at one time. As Avon ponders his decision, Zen informs him that three pursuit ships are approaching Horizon. Based on information from Orac, Avon teleports to the surface, kills several guards and rescues the crew. Blake returns to Ro's palace and finds that Ro has now abandoned the Federation and is wearing his native ceremonial robes and carrying a poison blow dart pipe. Ro kills the Kommissar with a poison dart. Blake leaves Ro to finish freeing his people from the Federations clutches.
