SEASON C
C1 AFTERMATH
The Federation fleet has finally arrived and
the Liberator limps off. The ship has suffered such severe damage that
Zen must shut down life support. The crew must evacuate in life capsules.
Avon is hurt and Cally puts him in a pod with Orac. Everyone lands on a
different planet.
Avon lands on Sarran where he is attacked by the natives. A young woman,
Dayna saves him with just a bow and arrow. As she leads Avon to her home,
a buried space station, they encounter Servalan and reluctantly aide her
too.
Dayna's father is Hal Mellanby, a fugitive, who had also led a revolt on
Earth, twenty years prior. As the sole survivor of the ensuing massacre,
Mellanby escaped with his daughter to Sarran. He is now blind but uses
an image amplifier to see. He has followed the exploits of Blake and the
Liberator. Mellanby tells Avon that the Federation has won the battle with
the Andromedons, but Star One is destroyed and most of the fleet is gone.
Avon tells Hal, Servalan's identity.
Avon is impressed with the weaponry and even more so, when he learns
that Dayna and Lauren (Hal's adopted daughter) have developed most of them.
Avon contacts Zen via Orac and requests ships status then a pick up. Zen
reports an unidentified craft has approached the Liberator. Avon tells
Zen to let it dock, thinking that it is one of the crew returning.
Hal and Lauren drive off the Sarrans who are trying to open the entry hatch.
Lauren stays to keep watch but is captured and killed. While everyone is
asleep, Servalan tries to steal Orac but is stopped by Mellanby, She shoots
out his amplifier and after a struggle kills him and escapes with Orac.
Finding her father's body, Dayna swears to kill Servalan. When Servalan
is taken by the Sarrans, Avon and Dayna must rescue her in order to find
Orac. They retrieve it and before Dayna can kill Servalan, they are teleported
up to the ship. Materializing, they are confronted by a Federation officer,
Space Captain Del Tarrant who claims the Liberator as his!
C2 POWERPLAY
Even though Tarrant and a few soldiers under
the command of Section Leader Klegg claim the Liberator, they have no control
over Zen, who is traveling to an unknown planet to pick up more of the
crew. Tarrant and Klegg learn that they need one of the original crew to
order Zen to recognize new voices. They order Avon to speak to Zen. But
as Avon starts to speak, Tarrant knocks him out, claiming Avon was drawing
a weapon.
On the planet, Chenga, Vila keeps trying to contact Zen, saying that he
has a broken arm and is in constant danger. First he is rescued by two
native savages. Then by two HiTechs out hunting the savages to "reintroduce
them to civilization". Cally has been picked up by a HiTech hospital ship
and is heading for Chenga. Servalan also is on the ship and all three meet
at the hospital.
Meanwhile, on the Liberator, Avon and Dayna escape the Federation soldiers
and discover that someone is killing them off. It turns out Tarrant is
an outlaw having deserted Space Command, but when he encountered Klegg,
he resumed his role of Space Captain. He strikes a truce with Avon and
together they win back the Liberator.
On Chenga, Cally and Vila, think they are in for some deserved rest and
medical treatment. But they're wrong. The HiTechs hunt the savages and
rescue the injured from the war to get organs for spare part surgery. Just
as Vila and Cally are about to be killed they are teleported to the ship.
