C13 TERMINAL
Avon has banned the crew from the flight deck
without an explanation. He has been there for nearly 30 hours and no one
is able to countermand Avon's orders to Zen. When Tarrant confronts Avon
demanding to know what's going on, Avon pulls a gun on him, saying he needs
to be alone and that he will explain everything later. Tarrant and the
others leave. Avon consults Zen who has been receiving instructions from
an unknown source to an unknown destination that must be reached within
a specified amount of time. Encountering a mass of fluid particles of unknown
properties, Avon orders Zen to fly through rather than lost pervious
time circumventing it. The particles adhere to the hull knocking out the
hull sensors but there are no other apparent problems.
The Liberator arrives at Terminal, an artificially created planet, thought
be have been destroyed three hundred years prior. Avon says that he has
left a message with Zen explaining what he's been doing and if he fails
to report back every hour they are to leave. Avon teleports down alone
and warns the crew not to follow, an order which Tarrant and Cally promptly
ignore. Avon is directed by a small navigational computer to an underground
base. He has also been followed by a man and a woman. Before they can reach
Avon, they are attacked by Links, the ape-like inhabitants of Terminal.
Tarrant and Cally are also attacked but they kill the Links and follow
Avon down into the base. In the base, Avon is shot by a tranquilizer dart.
When he awakes, he finds Blake. Blake is on life support and can not be
teleported but he promises to tell Avon of the treasure he has found.
On the Liberator, things are getting serious. Systems are breaking down
and the particles that they has passed through are eroding the ship faster
then Zen can repair it. Zen is dying and has shut down all functions except
the teleport. Meanwhile Avon is captured and brought before Servalan. It
was she who sent the messages from "Blake" and it was she who fooled Avon
into thinking he saw "Blake" through electronic auto suggestion. Servalan
set the trap in order to finally capture the Liberator. Just as Avon was
refusing to call for the others to teleport down, Tarrant and Cally are
brought in. Tarrant agrees to call Vila and have Dayna sent
down. Avon is furious unaware of the ship's condition. Maliciously, Servalan
informs Avon that Blake died on the planet Jervon and that she watched
the body being cremated. Then, in triumph, she calls for Vila to teleport
her and her men to she new ship the Liberator. Vila is sent down to Terminal
but before he leaves he manages to take Orac, who he claims is a piece
of space sculpture that he has made Servalan orders that ship to leave
orbit, but as its starts to move, the Liberator breaks up and explodes.
The crew watch stunned. Slowly they leave to explore the base. Each one
glaring at Avon for killing the Liberator and Zen .
