A8 DUEL


The Liberator has drained its energy supplies and takes a low orbit around an uncharted planet to recharge the banks. Blake, Jenna and Gan teleport to the surface where they find millions upon millions of graves and the signs of battles from eons ago. They also think they see two aliens appear and disappear. As Travis, with three pursuit ships approarches the Liberator, Blake and the others return to the ship and attempt to do battle. They ride out a number of plasma bolts but can't respond.
Blake deceides to ram Travis' ship and as the two vessels are about to ram, all motion stops. Sinofar and Giroc, the two aliens have taken control with their mysterious Power and they bring down Blake and Travis.
  Sinofar and Giroc are the last survivors of an ancient race which destroyed itself in a thousand years of war. They tell Blake and Travis that they must fight a duel to learn the lessons of their race. Each man is given a knife and told he must hunt the other. A friend of each is also brought down, Jenna foe Blake and a mutoid for Travis. Travis sets a trap for Blake and when the mutoid captures Jenna he baits it with her. Blake findas Jenna and the trap is sprung. Blake manages to defeats Travis but refuses to kill him in order to teach Sinofar and Giroc a lesson in mercy. They allow Blake and Jenna to return to the Liberator. They have recharged the energy banks and let the crew escape before Travis can return to his ship.


A9 PROJECT AVALON


In an attempt to rescue Avalon, a rebel leader, Blake and his crew travel to an icy planet where Avalon has been leading a rebel movement. Arriving, they discover dead bodies at the rendezvous point and Avalon missing. She's been taken by Travis who plans to destroy the crew while leaving the Liberator intact. Blake, Jenna and Vila work their way towards the command center where Avalon is being held. Despite being outnumbered, Blake rescues Avalon and teleports her back to the Liberator. But Blake realizes that something is wrong and soon discovers that Avalon is an android. She is carrying a sphere that when dropped releases a deadly phobon plague that will kill the crew but leave the ship undamaged. The Liberator returns to the planet after Avon reprograms the android. Blake teleports back down with the pseudoAvalon still holding the sphere. He negociates the release of the real Avalon and leaves the android . The android releases the sphere but Travis catches it in time. Despite this fact, Servalan relives Travis of all his duties because of the failure of Project Avalon.
